User Guide & Warnings

LOADING BIKES

When loading bikes, always be mindful of your weight distribution. It is important to keep as much weight at the center of the rack as possible to limit stress on hardware and vehicle.
Please read the following tips & tricks for when loading one or more bikes:
  • Load single bikes in either middle tire basket, not on outside tire baskets
  • Always load two bikes in the two middle tire baskets
  • Always load rack to distribute as much weight on center of rack as possible
    • Always place E-bikes in the center tire baskets
    • Always use middle two tire baskets when loading 1 or 2 bikes
    • Place heavier bikes in middle tire baskets when loading 3 or more bikes
  • Load bikes in orientation from left to right
  • To prevent handlebar interference, load shorter bikes in left position, and taller bikes in right position

USER GUIDE

  • DRIVE SLOWLY OVER SPEED BUMPS (Maximum 10km/h)
  • Do not climb on rack
  • Keep the bike weight on the center of the rack as possible. Read 'Loading Bikes' instructions for more info
  • Remove any road debris from rack to help prevent corrosion
  • Check all hardware on rack before each use to ensure proper working conditions
  • Ensure that all bungees and strap tie-downs are in good condition. Replace if you see any tears in the material
  • Always double check that your straps & bungees have been secured before driving your vehicle
  • Do not take rack through automatic car washes as some chemicals may damage rack components and/or finishing
  • Do not use this rack for anything other than the transportation of pedal bikes
  • Excessively high speeds or rough roads may overstress the rack and/or hitch/vehicle
  • Check with your hitch manufacturer to ensure the hitch is capable of withstanding the stress of this rack
  • Do not use 3rd party hitch adapters, extensions, or swing-outs with rack
  • Remove all bikes from rack before rotating/tilting, to prevent injury
  • Removing E-bike battery packs for transportation is recommended (if possible)
  • Do not use rack off-road (smooth gravel roads are not considered off-road [rough, rugged, washout roads are off-road])

WARNINGS

  • When driving, please be mindful of clearance between the bikes and the ground (IE: steep driveways). Contact with the ground may cause damage to bikes and/or the rack or vehicles
  • The bike rack may protrude above your vehicle and risk contacting overhead structures (IE parking garages), trees, or other overhead items
  • DO NOT use on recreation vehicles (RV), trailers, or other vehicles with excessively long overhang from rear-axle (IE: bus)
  • DO NOT use 1-1/4" to 2" hitch adapter for any racks. Your 1-1/4" hitches will not withstand the capacity of anything greater than the RAD2 rack (designed for 1-1/4" hitch insert)
  • It is the owner's responsibility to ensure assembly, installation, handling, and use of the rack is carried out in accordance with the assembly manual and user manual
  • Large fenders or beach cruiser style fenders may not fit in tire baskets
  • Vehicle behavior including braking and cornering may vary once rack is installed due to added weight distribution
